Growing up, I was fascinated by real estate. At six years old I watched my parents build their house from the ground up. Seeing their dream come true taught me the meaning of “pride of ownership.” As a teen, I helped my dad finish the basement (paint, install trim and doors, etc) and started exploring open houses with my mom on weekends for fun.

Education

After college (American Studies @ Siena) and grad school (Counseling and Community Psychology @ Sage) I eventually landed my “dream job” in a residential facility, case managing and counseling women with substance abuse & mental health disorders. Empowering them to turn their lives around was profoundly meaningful work, and I loved seeing them grow, but I felt in my gut it wasn’t where I was supposed to be… I had to move on.

I’d always figured real estate would be my mid-life crisis career change so I took a leap of faith earlier than planned. Launching a career in real estate (during the economic crisis in 2011) was risky but I knew instantly that I found my calling.

After a few years in the business I was finding my stride, gaining momentum, and got my Broker’s license. I have committed to this profession as a forever path, and focus on learning all I can to help my customers and community. Designations & certifications from the National Association of Realtors are an incredible way to deep-dive into a subject and set apart from other agents… to date I’ve become an e-PRO, GREEN designee (it’s not just a label - I’m an avid recycler and built an energy efficient home with solar), Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE), Commitment To Excellence (C2EX), and At Home With Diversity (AHWD). I’ve also completed NAR’s Fair Haven simulation and Implicit Bias training, putting into action the priority of DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) in my life.

Leadership

One of the best decisions I made was to serve on the South Central Vermont Board of Realtors (SCVBR). In 2019, I was elected Vice-President, which led me to the NAR Leadership Conference in Chicago, where I networked with real estate professionals from across the country. Then I became SCVBR’s 2020 President... COVID derailed my plans for education and social events, so like the rest of the world, I had to pivot. Apparently I rose to the challenge quite well… both the local and state associations named me REALTOR of the Year 2021. I attended my first national conference in San Diego that fall and walked across the stage representing my home state. What an honor!

With nine years experience under my belt, and a leadership position, I felt inspired and ready to open my own brokerage. A natural teacher and mentor, I thoroughly enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and helping them achieve their greatest potential. Whether working with first time buyers, people relocating to Vermont, sellers with all kinds of stories, or training new agents, I let people into my heart and develop bonds that last a lifetime. Like they say at the Olive Garden, when you’re here, you’re family!

Now I volunteer on state and national levels, such as the Vermont Association of Realtors (VAR) executive committee, board of directors, Professional Standards, and chair of Member Engagement Committee, and the NAR Broker Engagement Council, bringing targeted education and support to Vermont brokers.

In January 2023, I’m embarking on a year-long journey at NAR’s Leadership Academy. The application process was intense… only 20 Realtors were chosen for this prestigious training program… and I’ll be surrounded by the best and brightest in the country. It’s an opportunity of a lifetime and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.

Personal

A native Vermonter and third generation Benningtonian, my roots run deep! You can often find me shopping or dining at local small businesses — they are the lifeblood of America — and connecting with locals at Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce events. I serve on the Better Bennington Corporation (BBC) board and love seeing our downtown thrive.

Although I am working most of the time (because I love what I do!) you can also find me designing or building with my husband, cooking, reading, playing fetch with Rex, watching movies and reality TV (still waiting for my call to be on “Survivor!”), exploring tropical beaches, and spending quality time with my husband, family and friends.
