Jenifer Hoffman Named 2021 Realtor of the Year

The South Central Vermont Board of Realtors (SCVBR) named Jenifer Hoffman its Realtor of the Year for 2021. This is the board’s highest award, given to the agent who exemplifies the board’s core values and commitment to the industry, their clients and their community. When the award was bestowed, the SCVBR had this to say:

"This nominee has truly gone above and beyond the call of duty. Great spirit. Great attention to detail. Extremely faithful to the Code of Ethics. Treats both fellow Realtors and the public with respect and takes the time to educate along the way. As SCVBR's 2020 President she guided us through the unanticipated COVID territory with intelligence, passion, and class. All while building a house and opening her own firm. Near the end of her term, she learned of a variety of reporting requirements and personally completed the process putting SCVBR in ideal shape to move forward. My addition is that when she convinced me to do the impossible task of following her, without a year's preparation, she promised that she would always have my back, and in fact, she always has. She is always there when we call on her, stepping up to the plate when needed, sometimes without even being asked. She honors me and all of us by representing the highest values of a Realtor with her every action and her very person."

Hoffman’s Commitment to The Real Estate Industry

Hoffman regularly shows her commitment to the industry. She holds multiple designations and certifications, including At Home with Diversity®, C2EX (Commitment to Excellence), e-PRO, GREEN and RENE (Real Estate Negotiation Expert). A life-long learner, Hoffman takes continuing education classes to remain relevant and versed in current issues.

Hoffman stepped up as SCVBR’s Vice-President in 2019.  She attended the National Association of Realtors’ Leadership Conference in Chicago that summer, and helped organize the board’s meetings, continuing education classes, and special events, including the holiday party at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester.  As 2020 President, Hoffman became the guidepost for members through the COVID-19 pandemic, navigating constant changes to the way business could be conducted by Realtors and affiliates, including appraisers, home inspectors, lenders and attorneys.  Hoffman demonstrated her leadership and management capabilities brilliantly throughout this crisis.

Realtor of the Year Hoffman Cares for Clients

Hoffman’s background in counseling is evident in the trust and relationships she builds with clients.

Even when she’s not a buyer’s agent, buyers view her positively! A review from Ed Keating and Chris Gosselin, who bought in Bennington during the pandemic, is proof. “Jenifer was the seller's Realtor for the new home we just purchased,” the review opens. It includes notes about Hoffman’s professionalism, ethics and dedication. The review closes with “Although she was not our buyer's agent, I'd highly recommend her as a Realtor for any buyer or seller... Because of her integrity and personal, caring approach, I'd like to think we've made a new trusted friend in our new hometown!”

Hoffman’s reviews reflect these themes of trust, professionalism, attention to detail and heart over and over.

A True Community Ambassador

Jenifer lives and works in her community, and is actively involved in several areas. She is routinely found volunteering, attending community events or engaging with others in community meetings. She’s active in the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce, Shires Young Professionals and SCVBR.

Additional Recognition for Hoffman

In addition to this incredible honor, Jenifer was also recognized as Chamber Member of the Week by the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce. Jenifer can regularly be found volunteering at golf outings (you’ll find her slinging 50/50 and raffle tickets) and participating in round tables, educational opportunities and other meetings.

She built her home right here where she grew up and shares it with her husband, Jon, and their two dogs. Jenifer enjoys being outdoors, crafting and will be appearing on an upcoming season of Survivor (she hopes!!)
